Bat Cave & Tropical Adventure Experience

The Bahia Honda River remains so hidden that only locals and Indigenous communities can locate it among the mangroves. Enveloped by cascading vines and towering trees, the scenery feels like stepping into an ancient rainforest.

As you journey through this lush Caribbean jungle, you will encounter a world rich in biodiversity, where nature reveals itself in its purest form. The landscapes along the river are especially captivating, and while scanning the treetops, you may spot sloths and other wildlife.

Your path leads you deep into the forest to a local plantation, where you will meet the owners who will guide you toward the bat cave, home to five different species of bats. Along the way, you may come across cacao plants and, if you are lucky, Bocas del Toro’s famous red frogs and wild capuchin monkeys.

Inside the cave, a 30-minute exploration brings you to a natural freshwater pool, where you can enjoy a refreshing jump from a large rock.
