Monkey Island Tour
Monkeys don’t enter bungalows if doors are kept closed. Secure personal items, especially medication.
Gifts like raw unsalted cashews, pumpkin seeds, and dried fruits are appreciated. Check out the Monkey Wish List here at the bottom of the page.
Monkeys are disease-free, regularly tested, and vaccinated. Use caution; follow staff instructions for a safe and memorable experience.

Flying from Panama City to Bocas del Toro or David? Here are the details you need to book your flight:
Air Panama and Bocas Air offer daily flights from the “Marcos A. Gelabert” International Airport in Albrook (Panama City) to Isla Colón in Bocas del Toro. Flights take about 50 minutes, with a round-trip fare of approximately $175.
This is the most straightforward way to reach Bocas del Toro. Note that your departure and arrival in Panama City are from the Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport, around 40 minutes from Tocumen Airport.
Arrive in style with private plane services from companies like Adventures, Aero Albrook, Air Charter Panama, PrivateFly, and Panama Flight.
Our captain will wait for you at the airport. Take a taxi to Valencia dock, and our captain will bring you to Urraca Island.
If you’re arriving from Bocas del Toro or David, a water taxi is needed to reach the island. Transportation costs are not included and will vary based on the number of passengers during your arrival and departure. Please schedule your transportation in advance if you’re arriving from the Chiriquí Grande Marina.
Driving from Panama City to Urraca Island? Here are the details you need:
Take the Pan-American highway to Almirante (10 to 11 hours). Park your car at the Leiza parking lot. Then, take a water taxi from Almirante to Isla Colón (no reservations needed). The ride lasts about 25 minutes and costs $5 per person.
Considering taking the bus? Here’s the information you need:
Night buses run daily from the Albrook Bus Terminal in Panama City to the Port of Almirante (10 to 12 hours). There’s also a bus from David to Almirante (4 hours).

For safety, only guests over 12 years old are permitted.
Smoking is allowed only in designated areas for safety and courtesy.
Because monkeys reside on the island, we don’t allow other animals or pets.
Urraca Monkey Island is home to a variety of wildlife, including friendly geckos and small mangrove crabs. Mosquitoes are rare, but you may encounter chitras (small biting insects) around the full moon or after rain showers. These are typical of the tropical environment, so it’s always a good idea to be prepared.
Certainly! Monkey island tours are available daily (except Tuesday) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at an entrance fee of $20 for adults, and of $10 for children over 12.
It’s a good idea to bring some cash for any excursions or local purchases during your stay. For settling your final bill, we accept both cash and credit card payments to ensure convenience at checkout.

Yes, it is possible depending on availability.
We have a no refund policy for cancellations. Upon booking, a 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation. In the event of a cancellation, this deposit is non-refundable, and guests will forfeit 100% of the deposited amount. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against any unforeseen circumstances that may necessitate a cancellation.
Drones are allowed on the island.
Weather
The weather on Urraca Monkey Island is warm year-round, with average temperatures hovering around 30°C (86°F). Weather patterns can shift quickly, and while the driest months are typically February, March, September, and October, you may experience rain during June, July, November, and December. Always be ready for sudden shifts in weather and be sure to pack accordingly!
No, Panama is fortunate to be located outside the hurricane zone, so we are not impacted by hurricanes. This makes Urraca Monkey Island a safe and serene destination, even during storm seasons elsewhere.
